I find the best way to test playback quality is to listen to music with a
set of well-recoded minimally-processed drums, such as on Mogwai's Come On
Die Young. If the cymbals and hi-hats haven't dissolved into mush and you
can hear the timbre of the bass, you're onto a winner.

I presume they define "multimedia" as "more than one medium"; quality is not
addressed. Of course, the machine, the sound card and the drivers all have
a bearing on this.
