Ladeez and Jentlemen,

If we could revisit for a moment the circular sent round by
Multichannel recently, offering "free" connection to their coming
digital network if you're up to date as an analog customer.

If you look very very closely at the 4pt type on the back of the
turquoise card entitled "Digital Promise", you find embedded in the
legal gunk the sentence:

   "Telephone service must be taken in order to receive the free
    digital conversion"

Go carefully, and pray BT swallows Eircom and starts offering BSkyB
along with ADSL... :-)
