[CLUG] any suggestions?

When trying (again) to setup X using XF86Setup, I got this error message

"The program is running on a different virtual terminal.
 
  Please switch fo the correct virtual terminal"

Could someone tell me what that actually means? Also, the G200 is trying to connect to the SVGA server, I just want to check that this is the right one.
I ran X -probeonly 2> out and looked at the out file, as suggested, but being new to this kind of thing I don't really know what I'm looking for.
