Is there any other flat-rate subscription out there apart from IOL-ESHITE?
Did I hear about some Genesis company? Also, anyone yet actually get to use
a DSL connection and what did they think of it?

some of ye may believe it or not. But with regards to Eircoms DSL rollout,
They have finally got all the equipment in place. I was in their
Blanchardstown and City west buildings this week and probed about it a bit.
Basically their initial problem was that they didnt quite know how to go
about it. They had no team as such to manage it (4 people, no test equipment
and no project manager. This situation has since changed as they are into
full swing and have all equipment (Newbridge Switches) ready to go and they
are about to commence their serious trials.
You may well wonder about their High Speed offer or ISDN by another name.
The motive behind this is with keeping the DSL rollout in mind IMHO.
Your eircom highspeed ISDN is transported over HDSL lines into SDH lines at
the moment. This is about to change to ATM, and Eircom hve settled on ADSL
as the carrier.
Dont quote me on any of the above cause I'm just going by the info I got the
other day. And as with all things eircom, contents are subject to change.

Cheers
Robert
