Serial Switchboxes are do-able, as is an i/o card Adam.

You can get either from PcPro (If you don't have an account there, 
open one),I'd go with the i/o card, get an ISA one if you can, 
because its a hell of a lot easier to setup.  Most PC's also only 
have 1 Com port installed by default, but what a lot of people don't 
know is that 99.9% of the boards actually have a pinout for 
connecting a Com2, and all you need to is enable it in the BIOS.

Have a look inside and see can you find a pinout with "Com2" written 
on the board next to it.  If you do, mail me off list and I'll hook 
you up with a cable and port to hook into it.
