Yip, apparently it's the result of a patch applied by Red Hat to the PHP
RPM. Here's the bug report (which is pretty old for a "NEW" bug):

PHP 4.0.5 is out, but the Red Hat RPM is still on RawHide, and it's linked
to other RawHide RPM's. I could of course compile my own PHP or use the
Rawhide RPM's, but I'm trying to keep this installation as clean as
possible.
Looks like I'll just have to hack the PHP and wait until the new RPM is
released officially. :(
