I dont have that problem at all - I use it frequently. I even use it for smb,
scp (fish) audiocd etc...
I'd suggest maybe looking at the preemptive kernel patch - It makes a
difference, and also have you a version of kde compliled with the objprelink
hack? That also makes a *huge* difference.
