Depends. If you have a regular PSTN line you can do self-install -- UTV will
send you the modem and a filter or two, and you'll get a green light on your
modem when the engineer moves the line in the exchange. If you have ISDN,
you can downgrade the line yourself for €25, but if your line test fails
subsequently, you'll have to arrange to get it put back - for a fee - and
there's no guarantee when that'll happen.

I went for UTV's direct ISDN-to-DSL "conversion" because they'll arrange for
the guy to switch you back to POTS if your line test fails. I don't think
it's guaranteed this way either, but I reckon it's prolly less likely I'll
get fscked around by Eircom.

I've hads lots of Esat girls (so to speak), but sadly all the Eircom
marketers are boys. And you only need to say one word to them, three
letters. Begins in U and ends in V. Soon as you say the word, they start
backing down the driveway. I don't say the word straight away though. I'm
cruel like that.

Didn't get it yet. I've an enquiry in with UTV about the changed date. If
they say they can't do anything, I'll make some noise at CumRag.
