One position filled, but we are still recruiting if you are interested.

Both private and Enterprise Ireland investment in at this point, so
stability is even less of an issue than it was when I first sent this.

Hi,

I'm work for a company in the Business and Technology park on the
Model Farm Road (where Boston Scientific are based). We are a start
up with a few differentiating characteristics. We have a code base
which was developed over many man years, so we are not writing large
complex systems completely from scratch.

The product is a hospital bedside entertainment system. A picture is
worth a thousand words so have a look at the picture on our website:

http://www.lincor.com/

We are looking for two people at the moment. One senior linux systems
developer and one less senior who would be willing to do a mixture of
development and lab testing work, who would move on to being a senior
developer in time.

We have just completed a major investment drive and now have funds
for at least the next year. There is no inherent stability in any
startup company, so bear that in mind. This is my second startup
and I personally find them more challenging and interesting than
working for large multinationals.

The technologies involved are: linux device drivers (USB, touchscreen,
h/w MPEG decoders), linux user space programming (Mozilla, VideoLAN
Client, Lincor's core software), some GTK development, voice-over-IP,
video-on-demand, IPtv, PHP/Postgres back end management, customised
FC2 distribution. Source code control using Perforce.

These jobs require a very high level of linux knowledge. The senior
person should be capable of tracking new technologies and filling in
any gaps in available open source software. Both candidates should be
more than capable of linux administration. Basically we are looking
for technology enthusiasts who are linux all-rounders.

We will be interviewing over the next two or three weeks.

If any of this sounds of interest, feel free to contact me for further
information, or send a CV to (dermot at lincor.com), copying the Technical
Director, Enda Murphy (enda at lincor.com).

Warm Regards,

Dermot McGahon.
