Hi All,

Okay following on from the brief discussion we had this week about a web
interface to IP Tables, myself and Adam have decided to take the inital
steps and set up a project on this for all the interested persons in CLUG
or elsewhere to partake in. As such its still a project proposal if you
like as we don't want to be the only people involved as that would turn
out to be limited in socpe of technology and in delivering a final product
at the end of the day. Peter had some great ideas there on the list, and
there was one or two more offers to help, so please please come on down
and help.

There are loads of steps to be completed before even one line of code is
written. As such this is why we really do need all your help. We need to
define what the project is going to do, what its not all that important
stuff.

Anyhow to cut to the chase. I have set up a tempoary wiki and Subversion
repository on my home DSL server. I will move this to project to a
dedicated server and repos when

a) I can commit the resource to do so on a live box
b) there is sufficent interest in the project

You can access it all by visiting http://projects.druid-web.com/. The
subversion repository can be accessed via svn co
http://projects.druid-web.com/repos/WIPT but there is nothing there yet so
don't bother. Once we have a good project running and we have our first
release, we can then possibly think about moving it to somewhere like
sourceforge.

Now at the moment the Wiki is wide open and will be that way for a while.
Please feel free to add stuff to this as you think fit. We do need inital
thoughts, requirments ideas on how to do stuff etc etc.

Finally, its a great idea for CLUG to do a project, don't know how this
will work out, but there are enough intelligent and skilled people on this
list to make a very good project.

Cheers
AJ
