Anyone on for helping me to arrange some kind of Linuxey event in Cork this
summer? We haven't done something since the yoke Donncha organised a few
years ago afaicr. Nothing huge like, I'm thinking along the lines of a small
installfest for home users, maybe with a short presentation on migration from
other operating systems (how to get your bookmarks, contacts and calendar
across, for example); and two or three short business presentations, maybe
one from vendors, one from integrators, and one from businesses that are
already using Linux.

We have two major vendors in the area and I think Novell have an office in
Dublin, so it shouldn't be too hard to get some freebies from them, and maybe
a few quid towards invites and other expenses. I'm sure they'd be happy to
put someone forward to do a few minutes; I'd be happy to do a short bit on
migration, and possibly as an "integrator"; and I'm sure we could twist the
arms of people like Michele Neylon and Ruairi Roddy to step up to the plate
for a quickie on how Linux is working for them. Be nice to have a "keynote"
too, if anyone has any suggestions.

If we sent out invites well in advance and asked for RSVP's, it should be
pretty easy to arrange. But of course we'd need to settle on a location that
wasn't, like, closed a year ago. :)
