Hi Jean-Pierre,

When you tried to install just the RPM, do you mean with something like
"rpm -ivh rip-my-tunez.i386.rpm" or did you use yum to do it? The latter
will try to resolve the deps for you, even though it's a local RPM you're
installing - "yum install rip-my-tunez.i386.rpm".
> Questions:
> How I can find the repo related to an appli?
There may not be one - not all applications are in repos. Livna and
rpmfusion tend to be the ones I use which, for the most part, cover
everything. That said, I'm not using CentOS. Google will usually expose a
repo when you search for that and a package name.
> Which repo are compatible/uncompatible?
If a repo isn't compatible (i.e. doesn't carry packages for your distro /
release) it'll simply fail. CentOS is one of the more common cloned
distributions, so you'll find it fairly well served.
Hope this helps.
