[ILUG] installing debian

thanks to liam for debian,
but i cant install the damn thing :(
i was wondering has anyone ever came accross this before: when i get to
the installing deb's section on the second CD before dselect where i am
expected to choose from literally 1000's of packedge's,so i pick
standard workstation to afoid the nasty conflict's i get when manually
choosing and it skip ahead to the install section,and it seems to go
fine but then says something like 'checking for old tex packedges" and
then it all goes mental and i get flooded with "operating system read
only" messages,wtf! i cant even log in cos its read only.
