They are making a commission from TE for each call. However the calls
are at local rate and the majority of their target audience will use it
in off-peak hours anyway.

They need CLI presented - otherwise the line is dropped. To quote their
FAQ:
"CLI stands for "Calling Line Identification" and it is this facility
which allows network equipment to identify authorised users.
oceanfree.net uses CLI to create an audit trail of calls to the service
as a security measure."
When I was testing it, the ping times to UK servers were good. The
cloud.ign.ie TFC server had a ping of about 189 (only me on it though).
However I think it may be limited in the number of ports/modems it has
at each POP. I got an engaged tone a few times last night.
One critical thing to remember about this ISP is that it is a localised
version of LineOne. Volta - a Dublin web firm are apparently supplying
local content. Basically the local content is a review of a few Irish
sites. (somehow I don't think that HackWatch will get into that listing
since it is not a content free publication :-) and I think that Rupert
Murdoch may be connected to LineOne )
An article should appear on HackWatch about it later this morning -
after I stop laughing at one of Doras's (Tinet's shite effort at a web
directory) reviews of an information site as being "too text heavy".
Where do they get those clueless lusers from? -Oh yes, now I remember.
Someone from Doras told me that they got them and that each one was
qualified to be an editor. Then again so is Vi, Joe, Jed, Emacs and
Notepad. :-)))
