[ILUG] pppd on a pabx

Can anybody help me to configure pppd. My telephone line is through a pabx
and I need to dial 9 before I can get an outside line. The internal dial
tone results in No Dialtone (on minicom anyway). It just keeps retrying but
never dialling. I need to dial ATDP 9 and then I can dial tone (ATDT) from
there. I can hear the internal dial tone no problem.

I am running RH 5.2 on an Dell Inspiron 3500 laptop with a pcmcia modem.
