Hullo folks. Well, still flushed from LAID, for once, I might just post an
answer.....

As far as I can tell, XFree86 3.3.5, which is the current version (released
with RedHhat 6.1), should have fairly good support. Apparently Suse also
have a SIS Xserver, but I don't know anything about it.
You can get the newer version XFree86 from RedHat, try that first.

Disclaimer: I have no idea if this works, I have the same chipset in my
beige toaster which I use for MSWindows, but by the look of things, it
should work OK in linux too. Must try it :)
