I was part of the trial.  The trial required using a modem for upload 
unfortunately.  The modem had a fixed real IP, the cable modem hooked 
directly into the network card and had an IP of 10.0.0.1.  I'm assuming 
whatever clever routing they had meant that the cable modem had a real ip 
address (prob. same as modem) via the cable connection but blasted 
everyting on to 10.0.0.1 via the TP connection to the NIC.

The bandwidth for the trial was 256k (on good days I'd get about 24-30kB 
per second).  Most of the rest of the trial were businesses, but I used it 
only at weekends (especially as it still cost me for phone calls).  I 
could actually see my bandwidth drop and rise as people connected and 
disconnected.
