[ILUG] Kernel question

After my holidays, I came back to find my server slate had a maximum
uptime of ~1 week, at which stage it was running out of memory like mad
(from 256Mb of ram, there were 10Mb spread between buffers and cache!).
Anyway, I looked at Alan's errata for 2.2.11, and sitting there is a TCP
memory leak. So, moved to 2.2.12 and hope that'll fix it. Question is: how
do I check on the memory the kernel is using? Top/free/vmstat won't tell
me owt useful.... any suggestions?
