A properly setup Linux box, running a tested stable kernel release
and nothing strange, (e.g. Unreal Tournament :-) ) doesn't crash, for as
good a value of "doesn't crash" as you'll get in the Unix world. I'm
sitting in front of two Linux boxes and have another in use as a web
server and their uptimes are as follows:

Uptime	Usage		Reason for last shutdown

29 d	ISDN gateway 	ISDN problems (standard instructions for staff)
97 d	File server	Hardware maintenance
145 d	Web server	New hard disk

Note that none of these "crashed". BTW I don't regard any of the above as
remarkable uptimes - just examples from what's to hand. I was a full time
Sun administrator for the last five years and the uptime on my Sun boxes
for whatever reasons was not much better than the above.
