[ILUG] telnetd keeps going missing?

Hello all,

I have a weird problem with my telnet daemon on Mandrake 6.02.  On first
install the daemon is there and functioning.  Then mysteriously it stops
working.  On checking the drive the daemon file telnetd is missing.

Two questions.  Firstly, What would cause the file to disappear (I couldn't
find anything in the logs)?  Secondly, where could I get a replacement file
the would work with this version of Linux, and were should I place it?
