Well, it works.  I now know how to make a bootable VAX
disk, and have successfully booted (and crashed) a Linux
kernel on that machine.

I'll add the tools to do this to the CVS tree tomorrow
(time permitting).

However, my el-cheapo SCSI card in the PC and the driver
don't seem to like stuff powering up and down on the 
SCSI bus.  I have to turn everything on in a certain order,
or linux locks up or crashes.

So I'd love recommendations for a reasonably-priced SCSI
adapter to meet the following criteria:

o  Fast enough to feed, say, a DDS 2 tape drive

o  Solid linux drivers that will be able to handle
   devices powering up/down.  I don't mind having to
   manually send the add/remove-single-device stuff
   to /proc/scsi/scsi.

o  Internal and external connectors.

Any suggestions?
