[ILUG] Problems setting up NIS slave server

Hi,

In our network we have a NIS master server running Red Hat 6.2

and a number of NIS clients running various versions of Red Hat.

I've been trying to set up one of the clients as a slave server.

This client is working properly as a client and if I do a ypcat ...

it does get the map.   When i do a /usr/lib/yp/ypinit -s NISMASTER

I get an error message:

"Can't Enumerate maps, check to see that it is running"

(or something like that)

I tried the same thing on a different client just in case there was

a problem with that one and I got the same error.

The daemons i have running on the master server are ypserv and yppasswdd.

Should I be running the ypbind daemon on the server also?
