[ILUG] Proxy Servers

Hi, I am configuring a Redhat 6.2 machine, hooked up to a network which has
a proxy server.

I know that most applications (netscape, helix-update etc.) will need to be
configured manually for this, but is there an environment variable that
programs like wget use to get proxy server settings?

I couldn't see anything in the Redhat manuals on their site, so I'm asking
here.
