If memory serves, the jpeg exploit in 4.74 and lower was teh reason for the
barring of those versions; I seem to remember that exploit being mentioned
specifically. Given the myriad holes that were in previous (and probably
subsequent) versions, I'd guess that the webmaster just started subscribing to
bugtraq when that explot was revealed. I'd also guess that s/he relented when
thousands of irate customers objected to another 20meg download just so they
could see whether their visa card had been charged for those penguin mints.
