Run these for more enlightenment:

# ls -l /usr/include/ctype.h
# which gcc
# locate cc1
# ls -l /usr/include/{asm,linux}

Here are the results I get:

[root at ws-cok-esc606a /]# ls -l /usr/include/ctype.h
ls: /usr/include/ctype.h: No such file or directory
[root at ws-cok-esc606a /]# which gcc
/usr/bin/gcc
[root at ws-cok-esc606a /]# locate cc1
/dev/iscc1
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/egcs-2.91.66/cc1
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/egcs-2.91.66/cc1plus
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/egcs-2.91.66/cc1obj
[root at ws-cok-esc606a /]# ls -l /usr/include/{asm,linux}
ls: /usr/include/asm: No such file or directory
ls: /usr/include/linux: No such file or directory

I'm obviously missing something but I'm going to try
Michael Griffin's suggestion and install the gcc-libs or egcs-libs rpm's.
Thanks to everyone.

Robert
