Lizard is an X interface to the install program.
Can you see the initial X screen or is it still in console mode?
You never mentioned your display adapter make/model
problem could be that it isn't supported by the version
of XFree86 supplied (cant remember off the top of my head
which version)
IIRC the Caldera install uses the SVGA server in 640x480
by default.
Cheers
Robert

Subject: [ILUG] help needed installing caldera 2.3
Hi, I tried my first linux install last night and ran into problems,
I tried to install caldera 2.3 and kept getting the message " starting
lizard ==== fail " this occurred on the system startup screen.
Everything else appeared ok, the kernel loaded, it booted, found PCI,
ATAPI CD ROM, ethernet card, CD ROM but the lizard failed. The system
is a 350 PII, 128 meg, two hard drives a 3.5 gig and 10 gig. I
changed bios to boot A, CD-ROM, C. I ran partition magic on drive D
the 10 gig) making a 10 gig partition for linux, leaving drive C
the 3.5 gig ) for windows. I've read and reread the getting started
guide but can't find / figure out where to go from here.
Does anyone have an idea as to what I'm doing wrong? Any and all help
would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
jerry
