Could be :) Here's an example (applications may change):
* I want sendmail to bind to address 1.2.3.4, so that outgoing connections
have a source of 1.2.3.4.
* I want named to bind to address 5.6.7.8, so that outgoing connections
have a source of 5.6.7.8.
The potential problem i might be inventing is that if the machine has
a default gateway on the same subnet as 1.2.3.4, will packets with
a source address 5.6.7.8 - effectively a different LAN - ever reach that
default gateway? Is it sufficient that the linux box knows that there
is *one* way out, even if it's on a different subnet?
Cheers,
Dave
