]can't have irc sessions (firewalls) or have time to have an irc session
]open when they are in work.

The undernet irc channels would probably be better.  Try
stlouis.mo.us.undernet.org, I think.  Something like that (I haven't used
IRC in a long long time).  They would be active a lot of the time, and I
know a few people from here frequent them too.
