[ILUG] USB, Linux & Motorola DM 100

Hello:

Has anyone had any success getting USB to work with the Motorola io 
DM 100 "cable modem" I'm having problems with my ethernet card on the 
laptop, which I now suspect to be incompatible with Linux (in spite 
of what the vendor told me. Can't afford a new card for a while as I 
just orderd a new desktop box. USB would solve the problem.

In this instance, I'm running MDK 7.0 on a SONY VAIO PCG 818 (PII 
366) and have 192 MB of ram.
