<Mutter style="sullenly">still reckon that would be a good
idea</Mutter>. Either way kernel space mixer or not I reckon we should
be able to have a hundred sound apps all chirping along together. If I
had the patience and money I'd hunt down every app that uses sound
under linux, rewrite it for esd or "something" that does multiple
mixing and network sound. Then beat the crap out of anyone who dares
open /dev/audio, or even pretends to know of its existence. Fund
development to combine the best of the existing network sound thingies
and hire hitmen to set no anyone who thereafter creates a competing
protocol.
