Yeah, and the lovely (if old) IBM RS/6000's they had AIX running/crawling
on got thrown (forcefully) into a skip. Probably threw them out when they
couldn't install NT on them. IMHO, I think this beancounting stuff should
be left to the Beancounters. The argument "You could be writing a
financial app and it would be very useful" doesn't hold, since you could
just as likely be writing a browser and need some decent knowledge of
sockets, an OS and need a decent knowledge of hardware, an embedded system
and a decent knowledge of, well, embedded systems...
