Be warned that this hub does not support 10Mbit connections.
I got a Bay Netgear FS108 10/100 switch from www.dabs.com recently , and
it does support both speeds.
Retail is 115 STG + VAT etc....
A switching hub is the same as a switch as far as I know, and generally
gives much better performance by routing network traffic only along the
links to the required destination using hardware addresses rather than
doing a broadcast like a hub. I could be wrong, but that was how I
thought they worked anyway :-).
Who is selling those other ones?
David.

Subject: FW: [ILUG] [OT] 100Mb switching hub
Apparently this 8-port 100Base-TX switching hub can be
bought in Ireland for IEP 164. 20 quid/port seems very
cheap. What's the catch? What is the difference
between a hub and a switching hub? Between a switch and
a switching hub?
