[ILUG] This month's meeting.

I must say that the latest meeting was the most informative I've been to, from
the point of view of a newbie. Ken's talk about various troubleshooting
techniques turned out very good! I got lots of good notes, and my daughter even
took some notes from it for herself! The subject did drift a little, but all in
all, Excellent work!!!

Kate's talk about OpenGL was also quite good, although a little over my head. I
still got quite a bit out of it. Afterwards, I had another search of Debian and
realised I needed to install the mesa-dev and some other development stuff. I
can now use POTS to play with OpenGL stuff, and have even drawn a few triangle
and squares!!!

I must apologise for rushing off, but we needed to catch the bus back to
Drogheda. Unfortunately, I wasn't there if the bootable Debian business cards
were available. As I've got a Debian system running, and can update over the
web, it was more for the novelty than anything else. The wife is rather
computer-phobic and had gotten rather fed-up listening to geeks. I'll probably
leave her at home the next time.

Also, thanks to Martin Feeney who just posted a few more links for OpenGL
tutorials. I'll have another look at those when I get the chance. I'm sure that
with all the info I've collected, I'll eventually get something going.

As I'm changing jobs this week, I won't have any E-Mail address for a while. I
still haven't bothered to set-up E-Mail at home yet: I'm still debating which
ISP to go with. I currently use OceanFree, but there are several others I'm
considering. My main questions are:
Multiple E-Mail accounts.
WEB space.
Good connection.

Thanks again for all the help, the greatly informative meeting, and all the
links posted!

Cheers,

     John Gay
