What I found strange was, last time I was at one of those computer shows in
the RDS, it was an internet show that did useful stuff during the week and
wen't int luser mode for the weekend, there was a company there who had
bought up most of the town names in the country and you could registery your
email and account with them.   I just remember looking at local places like
ennistymon.ie and lisdoonvarna.ie and wondering how they managed to do that.
Sounds like your boss got jerked around or else these jokers had already
registered the name.   I'll say right now if someone connected with that
organisation is on the list that I was just personally unimpressed by the
whole system as I think that those sorts of domains should be left as an
option for the town in question to register and, if not, then OK give it to
industry.  I think that no company should be allowed to register half the
town names in Ireland for its own use.    Sounds like bad domain management
bound to lead to problems down the line.
