[ILUG] q's on X, modems

Got a MRi Mr. Modem external. Also had another one recommended, something that
sounds like a Honda. It'll come to me. Anyway, the performance seems ok - much
better than the Dell-installed 36.6 winmodem anyway. If you're going dual-boot,
the drivers on Win95 get a bit confused and keep trying to uninstall/reinstall
themselves, but that might have been caused by the Winmodem. I took the winmodem
out (it buzzed rather annoyingly), and then nicked me da's 98 CD, so I don't
know which was the cure. One important point - the driver/chipset conflicts with
Logitech $anything. They sent me details on how to fix it - tinkering in the
registry - but I tried all their suggestions, plus a few other bits and bobs, to
no avail. So if you've got a Logitech mouse, and you want more than two buttons,
forget about it. In Windows that is, the third button works perfectly in Linux
(RedHat).
Hayes Accura. That's the other one that was recommended. See, told you it
sounded like a Honda! :)
