[ILUG] bad dhcp clients...

our dhcp range is being eaten up by several machines that keep requesting
and getting addresses from ISC dhcpd 3.0b1pl12. these machines seem to
have insanely long MAC addr's, and somehow each one differs slightly from
the previous one.. but from the client-hostname it would appear to be the
same machine.
eg:
lease 192.168.0.110 {
starts 3 2000/05/31 08:34:23;
ends 5 2000/06/02 08:34:23;
hardware ethernet 52:41:53:20:90:8e:bb:60:3a:75:be:01:07:00:00:00;
^^
uid 01:52:41:53:20:90:8e:bb:60:3a:75:be:01:07:00:00:00;
client-hostname "DOUGHAL";
--
}
lease 192.168.0.64 {
starts 3 2000/05/31 01:11:19;
ends 5 2000/06/02 01:11:19;
hardware ethernet 52:41:53:20:90:8e:bb:60:3a:75:be:01:06:00:00:00;
^^
uid 01:52:41:53:20:90:8e:bb:60:3a:75:be:01:06:00:00:00;
client-hostname "DOUGHAL";
This machine, DOUGHAL, has about 12 leases outstanding of the format above
- which it doesn't respond to. Even worse, if the machine is the one i
think it it, it has a static IP!
anyone seen this before?
ta,
Paul
