[ILUG] linux nfs with solaris client

I would like to mount a folder called /home/beowulf/ on a solaris client

when i use the command
#mount -F nfs server:/home/beowulf /mnt/beowulf
i get a message: permisson denied

#mount -F nfs -o vers=2 server:/home/beowulf /mnt/beowulf
I get a message:access denied.

does anyone know why this is?

i have the client named in the exports file and in hosts.allow on the
RedHat 6.2 server.
