[ILUG] tip of the day: screen

it's actually better then that.

then do work.  finally when you need to disconnect, go home, go to
a different system, etc just press C-aC-d to detach.  then when you get to
where you're going reconnect to the system and reun screen -r.  it was
great at uni, and i also find it useful if i'm working on something
on a machine at work because i can just disconnect in the evening and
reconnect in the morning (since my laptop doesn't stay at work).
