[ILUG] Mozilla M18 latency

Hello All:

Anyone else having problems with dead slowness in
M18...or know what the minimum requirements are
for the vram?

I'm running it on a SONY VAIO PCG-818 [PII 300,
6.4 GB Toshiba HDD (4200 rpm) 192 MB Siemens ram
and a Neomagic 256 AV.

Distro: MDK 7.1 and Blackbox as the WM.

Net connection: cable, with a fairly consistent
dload speed of 220 Kbytes/sec...worst case 100
Kbytes.

Just to access my e-mail at Ireland.com takes
about 90 seconds (from loading initial page to
opening the mailbox.) As their servers are often
slow, I've tried other sites with the same
results.

I realise that Mozilla is a rendering environment
but hadn't thought it needed more than 2MB vram.
