On Mon, Oct 02, 2000 at 10:17:07AM +0100 or so it is rumoured hereabouts,

Had a chat today... forgot to ask some questions though but that's
normal. :-) Answers I got:

Q. What's the setup charge?
A. IEP25

Q. How much for the basic package?
A. IEP20 / month

Q. What do I get for that?
A. TV
Unlimited (dialup @ 56k) Internet access (no call charges)
2x Phone Lines (One will be used for Internet I presume)

Q. Can I multilink to the second phone line for internet?
A. Don't know but don't think so (Is this an ISDN only thing?)

Q. Can I get ISDN instead of ASDN?
A. You get ISDN as standard to the wall of the house. You can get an ISDN
adapter for your PC and connect directly to the digital side of your
service box which will have analogue connections for your existing
phones / modems. I guess that answers the multilink question above.

Q. Can I have multiple TV / Phone points (already installed) in the house?
A. Yep, We'll connect up to whatever number of points you have.

Q. What about a cable modem?
A. Yes but that's a different service...

Q. How much?
A. Buy your own cable modem, we recommend two different ones, one company
will set it up for you and everything while the other is DIY. The DIY
one costs IEP279, installed is more. If you can buy one cheaper, feel
free but out tech support have been trained up on this particular cable
   modem.

Q. Running charges?
A. Yes.

Q. How much?
A. IEP50 / month though this may reduce in time.

Q. What bandwidth?
A. <=512k download, <=128k upload.

Q. How long to get to my area (Baldoyle)?
A. Well, that depends...

Q. On what?
A. Well, we need to install a switch for each area. That's about
warehouse sized so we need to get the land. Tallaght was the first place
where they got the land and permits organised so they got the initial
rollout. Other areas will follow as we get land / premises / clearance
for the switch. (They can put it in my back garden if I can have a cable
modem and the subscription for free)

Q. So can I sign up for the basic service now?
A. No, not until the 2-way bit is installed in your area but you can sign
up for our phone service in the meantime.

Q. What's that then eh?
A. IEP15 / month, you get your normal TV service, they take over your phone
charging and you get free weekend surfing. You still have to pay Eircom
   line rental though.

Q. What are the call charges?
   Local calls, 3.5p / minute peak, 1.75 off-peak, 1.5p weekend
   Mobile, 19p / minute peak, 14p off-peak, 12p weekend
   Internet, As Local.

Q. What about Linux?
A. What?
