obviously whatever services that driver is offering are unreliable
now at best, but the rest of the machine can probably keep on going
if it's not a critical piece of the kernel.
what's the complete oops? and whats the output if you run the oops
through .../src/linux/scripts/ksymoops/? (or else you can look up the
symbols by hand in System.map).
if not an oops, then OOM could indeed be the problem. but i doubt the
machine could have got that far without being unusable. (userland
would have been hosed already).
could perhaps be something like a driver that wants memory accessible
to ISA (eg located < 16MB)..
what's the complete log message?
