Hi all,
Well, a couple of people have tried the first beta, and their
feedback has been taken into account. The first public beta ISO of the Irish
Linux User Group Bootable Business Card (ILUG BBC) is now available for
download by anonymous ftp (thanks to Wesley Darlington) at:
ftp://ftp.blackstar.co.uk/pub/ILUG/ILUG_BBC_beta2.iso
and will hopefully shortly be available at a couple of nearer (.ie) sites
(hi, Dave & Colin)
Differences from the original Linuxcare BBC:
Kernel 2.2.16
OpenSSH
wvdial works
wvdial.conf contains details of Eircom and Unison call-by-call POPs
Perl
Non-US keyboards supported
Reiser FS support - specially for Proinnsias
Netware FS support (from the Timpanoga group) - fix broken Netware servers !
Nice ILUG Penguin logo :-)
It'd be useful if a few more people could test it before I burn my limited
stock of business card CD-Rs. I'd particularly appreciate testers with
laptops. There were problems with Compaq Armada 1750s so I've integrated the
newest PCMCIA utilities, but lacking a notebook with a CD-ROM drive
(donations accepted :-) ) I haven't been able to test it.
Kindest regards,
Niall O Broin
