[ILUG] Upgrading to Bind 9

Hi all,
I attended the DNSSEC workshop in Amsterdam last week. Good stuff. We
installed and configured BIND 9.0.0rc5 on our laptops, and set up fully
delegated and signed zones inside an imaginary "ripe." pseudo-TLD. I've got a
fully signed "davew.ripe." zone working on my laptop right now under RH6.2.
However, a few bad experiences on Digital UNIX have left me wary of upgrading
BIND. I changed the wrong libraries, and all of a sudden applications like
Sendmail were core dumping because of conflicts in name resolution. Since then
I've stuck to packaged upgrades.
Does anyone know what the issues are with upgrading BIND on Red Hat? Does
"make install" cut it, and let the old libraries either remain untouched, or
rewritten with compatible equivalents?
Cheers,
Dave
