For what it's worth, this is what my brother's PIII 550 did before it got
fried. All of a sudden when the CPU was asked to do some heavy work the
box would just simply restart. Heat sink sliped of the CPU slightly.
As for some a temp solution to you thermal couplant problem, I've heard
that cooking oil is great for the short term. It start's to go white and
gooey after some time.
