As others have suggested, thermal paste is a Good Thing. Those nice ppl in
Maplin have a tube of the stuff for about ?2.50.

Take care when applying it though - you want to end up with as /thin/ a film
as you can manage. If applying by finger, rub a little vegetable oil on to
the tip of your finger first, this stops the paste sticking to you instead
of the chip.

Also recheck the paste after a day or two - I found that it had settled into
pools, and wasn't provding a consistant interface.

attached with a fan).
