[ILUG] {OT?} Apache questions

Hello,

Sorry if this is a bit off topic - its more related to apache than linux,
but I'm not on any apache list.. is there an Irish one that anyone knows of?

Anyway, my problem is this: I am trying to enable Server Side Includes. I
edited httpd.conf and uncommented the lines regarding .shtml (AddType,
AddHandler, etc), the Options for the Directory in which the .shtml files
are found are set to: Includes Indexes FollowSymLinks. There is a .htaccess
file in the same directory with the exact same options set. The permissions
on the .shtml files are 755. Apache runs as user nobody. The .shtml files
are something like this:

hello

bye

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,
 Mike
