[ILUG] NTL's Internet offering

Hi,

I'm in Belfast, so most of what I say probably isn't all that
relevant...

UKP9.25 for phone line and basic cable TV. The only channel in
there that I wouldn't otherwise get is The Simpsons Channel
(aka Sky One ;-). That includes free 24x7 internet access.

Call charges are dirt cheap. 3p a minute during the day, 2p
in the evening, 1p at weekends. That's to the whole UK and,
AFAIK, to down south too. 3.5p or so minimum call charge,
though. :-( I think calls to other local (residential only,
possibly) ntl phones are 3.5p regardless of length at
weekends.

Another phone line would be UKP5 a month. A cable modem would
be UKP40 a month, with UKP175 installation. :-(The cable modem
itself costs UKP150)-:

I have one or two reservations about ntl as a business isp/telco,
but as a home user I think they're just *great*.

Wesley.

PS. Usual disclaimers - I don't work for ntl, speak for ntl, own
shares in ntl etc. Just a happy residential customer and a vocal,
mildly unhappy (relatively speaking) business customer. ;-)
