I bought an ASUS A7V motherboard from peat's with an Athlon 750, I can't
remember how much it cost but there web site will help you there, and I
lashed it all together without a single hitch, but it's true about the case
and power supply, there different now, there normally sold together +/- ?70
I think, and you will probably need ram as although some of the later
"Pentium I" boards had SIMM and DIMM slots - I don't think your could be one
on them.
Point to note about the ASUS A7V (and a lot of other new motherboards) is
that the don't have ANY ISA slots, so old ISA cards won't do.
Have a look at http://www.tomshardware.com may give you some helpful tips,
there's also a great review of the A7V.
I will say though, if you can figure out the Linux OS no prob's then
hardware will be interesting but Childs play.
