The guy works for RH but have a look at
http://www.bero.org/gcc296.html
for some interesting comments on the compiler and how the breakage is in the
source code, not the compiler.
He was running around defending it left right and centre in the slashdot
thread on 7.1. He also said that 7.1 was compiled using 7.1, so you
shouldn't need to go off to rpmfind to recompile your kernel,
