[ILUG] less problem, no more

Yeah, the shell I use is tcsh, the I only started to notice the problem
recently but I'd say it's from when I changed from bash to tcsh some months
back. I copied some of the bashrc stuff (aliases and so on) into tcshrc. So
that's where the equals is coming into it. As for the filesystem, I have 2 20
gig disks, partitioned as 1g /, 10g /usr, about 9g for doze, and then 20g for
/usr/local and /home is symlinked into local (ala Ken Guests method of putting
home and var into /usr/local). Normally everything works fine but it's been
hanging on shutdown lately, it's probably something silly I did (been playing
with nfs and samba and stuff) like waiting for a server that doesn't exist so I
probably do deserve what I get <:(
Must look into ReiserFS though, sounds good anyway :)
Thanks all,

Paul.

Hmm, peculiar. setenv is a C shell construct, not bash. I actually thought
it was in bash but I just checked on bash2 and bash1 and setenv doesn't
exist. So, what shell ARE you using exactly ? tcsh is on most distributions,
 so perhaps you're using that.

No diea what's happening to your box, but you can get over the waiting
through fsck by changing that big filesystem to ReiserFS. If that's
unacceptable :-) change your fstab so that that FS is mounted RO, then you
can remount it RW if the box comes up OK - naturally only something to do
for testing. Could also make it a non-auto mounted FS, I suppose. Of course
if it's your root filesystem, then you've got a problem and you deserve what
 you get :-)
